Musician Spotlight ~ Agave Blues

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE   Jan. 26, 2011
--
Musician Spotlight:  Agave Blues

The 5th Annual International Blues & Arts Fiesta 2011 proudly showcases our exceptional local headliners, Agave Blues. As recent reader poll winners as the Best Band 2010 for Baja California Magazine, if you ever rock with these guys you will know why Agave Blues is repeatedly the people's choice in the Baja.  Derek Wille on keyboards & vocals, Jim Moore on drums & lead vocals, and Arturo Esquivias on lead guitar & vocals are also the gentlemen hosts of the Blues & Arts Fiesta.  Agave Blues commands a wide following of loyal fans--and the shows are nothing but a good time. Most Friday nights Agave Blues performs before packed crowds at the Jolly Mon Club just north of San Felipe across from the Rockadile sign.  This tight and talented band does a little of everything, and very, very well.  A multi-genre Blues, Rock, and Jazz experience resonates with audiences because the vibe is so good and the material is strong.  The band's motto:  "Take life with a pinch of salt...and a wedge of lime...and a shot of tequila" is part whimsy yet also captures the connection of philosophy, performance excellence, and good old fashioned fun.  With Agave Blues ripping it up on stage, audiences always cut loose with happy dancing, and every performance is a party.  We love these guys!

Agave Blues plays so well because of a strong foundation of talent and exceptional personalities. Jim Moore is the executive producer of B&A 2011 and a tireless ambassador for San Felipe.  As this year's Lions Club president, Jim has personally spearheaded many local humanitarian and fundraising efforts--always with aplomb and a smile.  Jim's leadership style brings community spirit and our friends from all around the Baja together in ways that make a better place for all of us.  Thanks Jimmy!  And Derek Wille on keyboards and vocals gives every performance a panache and sophistication that is part of the Agave Blues experience.  And the incomparable Arturo Esquivias on soaring lead guitar!  Audiences are regularly mesmerized with his virtuoso guitar leads which sometimes are nearly dreamlike and take audiences up that stairway to heaven.  Tight, pulsing, great delivery. You can feel it, baby.  Agave Blues hits the stage on March 26 as part of the stellar line up of musical talent for this year's Blues & Arts Fiesta 2011.
